Overview
PO'ed is a comical sci-fi first-person shooter developed and published by Any Channel for the 3DO on November 6, 1995.
The sole game by Any Channel, PO'ed is a first-person shooter that is known for its platforming elements, with large, open environments and verticality (allowing the use of a jetpack for easier traversal).
The game's story puts players in control of a lone chef (known simply as "Ox") and the last surviving crewmember of the space-faring U.S.S. Pompous, which has been overrun by hostile aliens, rendered broken, and towed to a unknown part of the galaxy. Armed with a frying pan, a jetpack, and a variety of weapons, this pissed-off chef has to find a way home.
It later received a port to the Sony PlayStation, with a North American release by Accolade on April 1996, a Japanese release by Coconuts Japan on August 1996, and a European release by both Accolade and Warner Interactive on November 1996.
A re-mastered PC port of the game, known as PO'ed: Definitive Edition, is in development by Nightdive Studios. Built on the Kex Engine, it features numerous quality-of-life updates (including a revamped graphics renderer, compatibility for modern systems, bug-fixes, and localization).
