This might my proudest moment. It was an educated guess, but could almost be ANYTHING from the first screenshot.

@chamurai: I'm old so I actually remembered the print ads for it in magazines from back in the day but not the name of the game, which I never played. I think a friend of mine might have had it, it certainly seems like something he would have bought and I would have played at his house though I don't think we ever did this one together.
@bigsocrates: Yeah, PC games of a certain age are a blind spot for me. I don't know too much from the 90's if it wasn't Command & Conquer or from Blizzard and Valve.
@chamurai: Obviously you're INTENTIONALLY leaving out ID because you're still bitter about John Romero making you his bitch. Though that wasn't an ID game.
I played a bunch of 90s PC games but the adventure game genre specifically is almost entirely limited to "games I played with one specific friend when I would go to his apartment after school." He loved adventure games and I mostly found them frustrating, though I didn't mind playing with him because between us we could usually figure something out (or look up a guide) and misery loves company.
@bigsocrates: I was SO jealous of John Romero's flowing mane and it's taken years for me to finally admit it.
Now I can heal.

Based on screen 2 and the video clip on 6 I think this might be an upscaled version of the game. At least it's much cleaner than it looks in my memory.
@hhap: I like that when you completely whiff on one (as I did on this one too) it still says "#Screenshotsleuth or Eliteguesser." Feels like a real middle finger but in a fun way.
I always feel better after failing if it's just a game I never heard of and had no knowledge of. Failing on a game I was at least aware of feels much worse than "oh, I never came across this, okay" does.

This one I'm ashamed of because I played and finished this game in 2023. And it has a unique visual style. I don't have a great explanation except I should have had more caffeine before guessing.

This game's look is so iconic that I got this on the first shot without having even played the game.

I feel like the first couple of screenshots here are kind of intentionally misleading. I disagree with @chamurai because I think that screenshot 1 is definitely ambiguous but screenshot 2 is probably clear if you really really know the game, which I obviously didn't. I really was only able to guess on the third screenshot because of the text clues.
I don't know how I feel about when they use screenshots that are intentionally misleading or ambiguous. I guess it's fair and can be fun to guess a game despite a misleading shot (and apparently 25% of people got this on the first one, so it wasn't that misleading) but at times it feels like they are toying with you. Of course by the third or fourth shot it's generally pretty fair.
@bigsocrates: I will admit to being a bit salty at the time. I honestly have not played any of the games in the franchise so the first screenshot may very well be an 'If you've played it, you'll know' type of shot. All I can blame is myself and lack of playing a game I actually own because of my kids. :P
Didn't see what was misleading about any of the hints. Was able to identify the franchise with the first hint, however only played one game in the series, and to me, they all feel so similar to one another. So eventually guessed the series until I got it.

I think the "genre" for game #450 is just flat out wrong and misleading. That is not the genre I would put this game in.
@bigsocrates: Oh you're right! I didn't notice that.
