EverQuest II
In February 2005, just a few months after the release of EverQuest II, Sony Online Entertainment announced a promotion in conjuction with Pizza Hut that allowed players to order pizza from within the game. Players could simply type "/pizza" to bring up an in-game ordering menu. The promotion garnered a significant amount of press for EQ2 at the time. The deal has since ended and the /pizza command no longer does anything in the game.
Nintendo Fan Network
From 2007 to 2015, fans at Seattle Mariners games at Safeco Field could download the Nintendo Fan Network app to their Nintendo DS or Nintendo 3DS that featured minigames that allowed them to compete against other fans in the stadium during the game. The app also provided live stats and scores from throughout the league, but the most notable feature was that it allowed fans to order food and drink delivered directly to their seat.
Xbox Live
While not technically within a game, in April 2013, Microsoft and Pizza Hut launched an app on the Xbox 360 dashboard that allows players to order pizza, wings, pasta, drinks, and more through their console. The app even has an option to utilize Kinect motion controls while ordering.
Roblox
In May 2023, Roblox teamed up with Walmart to create the "Walmart Discovered" branded "experience" within the game where players could acquire exclusive in-game items.
Then, in April 2024, the Walmart Discovered promotion added a section within the game where players could order products from Walmart to be delivered directly to their home. Buy purchasing an in-game item, the player would be presented with an "e-commerce experience" window to also purchase a real world item for delivery.
