Did I hear Vinny correctly at the end of this week's The Hot Spot that GB will be doing their GOTY 2020 deliberations in 2021? I wasn't sure if it had been mentioned previously on another podcast or something.
Yes, they have mentioned here and there this week that GotY discussions are taking place in early 2021. They’re obviously not flying to SF to all meet up, also they’re in the middle of the CBSi/Red Ventures acquisition, also they’re in the middle of an office/studio move, also Abby is departing the staff, also it’s just a weird year. So the schedule is a little different this year.
But what year will they do? They can't do 2020 in 2021, that would be crazy, so they'll have to do GOTY for 2021 in like mid January and they will only have like 5 games to consider!
