The ad in Episode 751

Normally I don't care about ads in the Giantbomb cast but when I heard the one in Episode 751, I was baffled. Rings of Power? Really??? I thought GB was better than advertising that pile of garbage? What's next, Raid: Shadow Legends?

Yes. How dare they advertise with a popular and successful television show. The audacity.

Yeah look, I don't like Amazon either, but I don't think this super generic brand deal is where we should start the cutoff. Also, take the Raid Shadow Legends money. At least it's a video game.

I still think the worst ad in Bombcast's history was the Ralphie May special.

It's one of the few ones I can think of that were entirely, rigidly scripted which is why I hate it.

And even further back: the ads for that show that had the "brilliant" idea to release a tie-in game alongside the weekly TV show.

For the first year or so that I was premium I still downloaded the regular podcast feed because I figured that in a weird way it was helping boost ad numbers. When I could tell Gerstmann was really starting to hate the ad reads I switched over because it was such a depressing way to start each podcast.

Now I kind of wonder what insane world I have missed…

Yes! How dare they have ads for entertainment that I don't care for!

But really, cool down a bit. It's just an ad for a show.

If you care this much about an ad of a tv show you need to reevaluate your life.
