What a mess 0
This game is a real mess, I’m not a FF or jrpg fanboy but I’ve played over half the games in the series and enjoyed all of them up to now.The best way I can put this is: you know how everyone complained about how long it took FF13 to get going; that is all this game is just meaningless busy work waiting for the game to get going and then out of nowhere it just ends. It's a real shame because I can see the ambition here but it just feels like they focused far too much on the open worl...

Nice concept, but not enough game 0
The fan on my PC gpu died a few days ago so I've been playing some mobile games.I gave this one a shot because it described itself as a story based idle clicker, it turns out that that was exactly what it was and it also seems to be something I don't want.My one major complaint is that this game is far too short, I finished it over the course of a day opening it up maybe 6 times playing for 5-10 minutes each time, so less than an hour really. It's not much of an idle game either it's just too sho...

One night (can't) stand 0
I played this game obsessively for 2 days then deleted it in disgust. The only reason this game even came on my radar is because of the Bethesda lawsuit over this game's similarity to Fallout Shelter; I haven't played Fallout shelter since the week it came out; while I had pretty much the same reaction to both games, they are nothing alike.Westworld is a very busy game, there is always something to do, always something leveling up, some new quest, it's quite intoxicating until the phone battery d...

Better late than never? 0
The story was interesting enough but I was expecting more based on the reverence people have for this game and my experience having already played Bioshock Infinite. The long build up to what was an extremely lame final boss fight was really disappointing. The game plays well, there are a lot of combat options and the game gives you reason to use everything.Even playing the remastered edition on PC, I feel like this game hasn't held up very well visually other than the big daddies the enemy desig...

Fun but a bit long and not enough variety 0
This game looks great, I loved the world that they created and I enjoyed the music. This game has been described as an X-Com like game, it is in only the most basic sense; while I enjoyed the game I was disappointed with how simply it was and the lack of progression, you have all your abilities from the start and all upgrades to weapons and abilities were just bigger numbers. The game felt really long, there are a lot of battles and they are mostly the same enemies with bigger numbers vs your team...

I enjoyed this game. 0
I'm filled with an overwhelming urge to defend this game which I realize is very silly; I think because this game tells a serious story and portrays itself as something important, a work of art rather than a product created for a child's amusement; that many will hold it to a higher standard which it couldn't possibly meet.Taken for what it is, this is a video game with an above standard story that takes you to an interesting sci-fi future and presents some intriguing scenarios and choices to ma...

Stuck in the middle with you? 0
I'm not a big fan of FPS games, especially on console and this was my first Far Cry game, It came free with my Xbox 1X so I gave it a shot.I thought the story was decent, each of the 4 antagonists were well done to the point where you could understand their point of view beyond just being flat out evil. The boss fights were good, but fuck those silos, especially the first one. There is a wide variety of tools available in combat, I normally ignore these in other games, they seem to be crucial in ...

Dad of War 0
Initially I did not have a very good impression from playing this game. Coming straight off of playing the rest of the series it's very clear that this game is something completely different. Whether you like or dislike the previous games in the series one thing GoW was very successful at was having it's own identity and I feel that has somewhat been lost in this offering dropping it's combat frenzied anger simulator to become another Naughty Dog adventure.Once you get past all that it's a fine ...

Short and boring. 0
This game accomplishes the amazing feat of being incredibly short while at the same time feeling like it was far too long. This game is incredibly boring, slow and not scary at all.The whole time I played it I was on the verge of having the VR sickness. The only thing this game has going for it is the branching paths but I really can't see myself playing this game again to see what they may be....

Great adventure cut short 0
This game is easily the best VR experience I've had to date.As far as the game is concerned it's a simple adventure game presented as a fairytale about a mouse that must make a journey to save a family member. You control the mouse with a standard DS4 to rum jump and some minor combat. Also your cursor is activated with the shoulder buttons to manipulate objects in the world and complete various puzzles. The game make takes an extreme twist towards the end which was very interesting. The only thing...

Who got their Uncharted in my God of War 0
Feels like this game tries to get back to be more like the first two games with a good mix of combat and puzzles and less big boss battles that dominated 3 and I think that is a good direction. The only problem is that the combat is simplified in this game, it didn't feel like there was much execution, just a bunch of mashing.I think it looks great, some great action sequences. Not too many people playing multiplayer now, I was able to get a match in and it seemed really dumb....

Another good GoW game. 0
This game looks markedly better than the first PSP God of War it's amazing they both came out on the same system and not that far apart on release date, they should have probably held this for a Vita release game.Though this game looks much better it plays pretty much exactly the same as the first game and the PS2 games, it's combat heavy and puzzle/traversal light.Probably the easiest game in the series, some of it is just me getting a bit better but I hardly died in this game and when I did di...

3 hours well spent 0
This one got me.Gameplay is typically simple for this type of game but it manages to do some interesting things.I'm not a big fan of the visuals, but they are unique and that's cool.Builds into a fairly intense tearjerker. Not much more I can say without spoiling the game; it's 3 hours well spent....

Something missing 0
This is my 4th God of War game finished in the last few weeks and I wonder if I might be getting a bit burned out on this series. It's funny that this game is the most modern in the series by far, looks amazing and had the most interesting story; yet I found it to be a bit of a drag to play and I have no idea why. It's almost like everything is better but somewhere along the way the charm was lost. This game is certainly the easiest one so far; I can't imagine I died more than 5 times while playing...

Decent addition to the God of War lore 0
I knew this was a psp game but it was still jarring how bad it looked compared with the first two games.Other than that I quite enjoyed the game, they made some smart choices with the controls and it felt good to play after I worked everything out.The story was quite good, definitely on par if not better than the first two games.Boss fights were good.Overall pretty good game, I would say a good candidate for a HD remaster....

How to ruin a good game 0
I was enjoying this game much more than the first one, it looks better, plays better, more interesting elaborate puzzles.I was, right up until the final boss battle; whoever is responsible for the mess is a pile of fucking garbage, ruined the entire game, I've never played such a shitty sequence in all my years, what an abysmal end to an otherwise decent game.RUINEDTHEFUCKINGGAMEnothing but disgust......

hyper-girly 0
It's one of those games that you end up with through some bundle deal or Steam sale that I wouldn't normally go looking for but for some reason I keep coming back to this one.I've never played a game quite like this before, it seems really simple at first then the game throws a bunch of curve balls at you and then you are dead; over and over and over again. It was fun learning the traps and how to avoid them as I progressed through the story. The branching story was most impressive, it really feel...

They don't make them like this anymore. 0
It's really interesting to play old games for the first time, I can never tell if the game is actually hard or if the gameplay just doesn't translate to modern game sensibilities.I was surprised by the tactical thinking that was required in some sections of this game; so many times I would charge in swinging and get my ass handed to me, then come back with a focused plan and beat the same encounter easily.I've never said fuck so many times while playing a game before, I probably cursed more whil...

Hella disappointing 0
I appreciate the backstory they brought to life here and there were some interesting moments but this isn't a very good game on it's own merit. If you haven't played the original Life is Strange, go play that, it's fantastic; if you have, then you are probably going to play this anyway so this review is essentially pointless. The story is only partially successful, it has some touching moments, but they are buried under a heavy layer of nonsense. This is a prequel to the first game but it still le...

Something familiar 0
I really blasted through this one so it must be good.I loved the visuals and the music. It has that special something that most Studio Ghibli project share, adventure, wonder, just something special.Funny writing peppered throughout the game but the actual plot was a fairly basic young boy must save the world, there were some interesting twists but I hope they go for something more in the next game.Combat is overly easy with the exception of a few boss fights which really pushed my mana to it's ...

Glad I came back to it. 0
I don't usually preorder games and I think I was one of the few people that preordered this game, why does that matter? I was really excited for this game when it came out in 2014 and now 3 years later I am just getting around to finishing it.The main issue I had that made me put the game down was mostly my fault, if you treat this game like a beat em up you get quickly overwhelmed and the whole game turns into a real brutal slog, I fell into this trap and took a "f" that game break. The sequel b...

A weak follow up 0
This game didn't have nearly the same impact that the first one did.It felt really easy, like most of the puzzles only had one possibility so it was less playing a game and more of just going through the motions. Not very long, maybe an hour, most of the puzzles are done in under a minute and there aren't many of them.Extremely disappointing....

Good premise, bad execution 0
While I thought the premise for this game was very interesting the actual scene to scene story didn't hook me at all. There were so many ridiculous plot points: I won't talk about them all because spoilers but this one doesn't reveal anything: The antagonist's father owns a heating company, there is a part in the game where you are investigating his basement, one of the clues is a service report on the water heater, the service was performed by another heating company, wow.The Bruce Wayne charact...

What if Mass Effect was a huge open world? What if Mass Effect was in a new galaxy with new friends and enemies? What if Mass Effect had a kind of weak story(also see Mass Effect 3)?What if Mass Effect was packed full of loot resources and crafting that was completely meaningless? What if Mass Effect was full of bugs glitches and and overall complete lack of any sort of care or polish that is expected from a game in a series of this caliber?Mass Effect Andromeda seeks to answer all of these questio...

What a payoff 0
I bit of tedium getting through some of the early sequences but a big payoff awaits. There is one holy crap moment that I still have no idea how they did it and my mind was blown. Some great savage poetry throughout the game keep me interested and gave me some evil chuckles. The auto setting is crucial to enjoying the game but I wish it didn't automatically skip over the poetry, I missed one which sucked....

Good but no emotional climax 0
I enjoyed the creativity but I never had a moment that hooked me and I think that is what makes or breaks these kind of games. This game is a lot shorter than I expected, there was no filler it's a constant stream of interesting story. The story was interesting but there was no big moment so I was left a little confused about the hype this game is getting....

Fun world to explore 0
Gravity Rush was a great Vita game, Gravity Rush 2 continues the story but the gameplay really doesn't make the transition as well as I had hoped. The whole time I was playing this game I couldn't help but think the only reason this game exists is because it was supposed to be the PSVR's killer app but it turned out to be a comet vomit, I kinda hope they put out a VR mode, it would be interesting and probably control better. The best part of this game is the amazing world they have created that I ...

The "Ah-ha" moment 0
It's going to be hard to articulate how I feel about this game; there is so much I liked but I have no idea why, couple that with some pretty rote gameplay it's really strange how much I enjoyed it.This game's charm is it's undeniable weirdness, the story, the way that it turns your expectations or brings things that I've never seen before or even considered was really appreciated. There is no "Ah-ha" moment in this game it is just a slow but constant progression into strangeness.I don't know wha...

Beautiful game but a real chore to play. 1
Beautiful game but a real chore to play.I played this game on my Xbox One and the performance was outstandingly bad, inconsistent frame rate, stuttering, it really ruined the game for me, I think if I had played on PC it would have been somewhat better. The world is beautiful, lots of variety in all the different areas you get to explore. The controls seemed really mushy, I missed a lot of easy jumps and lots of running into walls and stuff, it got really annoying the longer I played. The implied s...

Not a Saints Row game 0
Adjust your expectationsThis is not a Saints Row game.Imagine taking all the generic open world bits that nobody likes anymore and that is this game; a generic open world with absolutely no hook. The actual world is very nice looking, a stylized future city very reminiscent of Overwatch but it is extremely small, likely the smallest "open world" I've ever been in.I liked the majority of the characters they all had a decent backstory and fun special abilities.80% of this game is extremely repetitiv...

Unexpected but worthy 0
Forget what you think this game may be and forget the kind of game you expect Ninja Theory would make, this isn't that game, it's something different.Right off the bat this is a gorgeous looking game, Senua is maybe the most visually impressive character I've ever seen and the world was impressively grim. The game put a lot of pressure on the player from the start, Senua is afflicted with an infection that spreads each time she dies and if it reaches her head it's game over, this made every encou...

Game stressed me out but glad I played it 0
I didn't have a good first impression of this game but I pushed on much the same as previous Supergiant games and by the end I very much enjoyed the game.Playing this on PC I started with KB+M, what a mistake, this game probably has the worst KB button layout I've ever experienced, once I switched to a controller it was much better.I hate sports games as a rule and I really wasn't expecting what this game had to offer, despite the rites being fairly easy they were incredibly stressful. Much the ...

An acheivement 0
I was pretty iffy on this game before it came out, on the surface it looks very much like a Ubisoft ripoff and why would anyone want to do that?On a very fundamental level this game is what I feared it would be, but this game has just enough special sauce to make it special; sort of like how Blizzard is able to take an established genre and make it better in every way; this game has achieved that for the open world genre and that's equally rare and impressive. The story was probably the biggest s...

A kids game that's fun for adults 0
I'm not sure what I was expecting going into this, my only exposure to the franchise was playing the demo for crack in time a long time ago and very much disliking it, but the price was right and I decided to give it a shot.I was completely blown away by this game, great platforming, great shooting, amazing variety of weapons to use, collectables all over the place, very good story and characters then I had a realization, this game is Sunset Overdrive but it came out first.Only having quick acce...

So much better than 3 0
I started this the day after I finished 3 and played it through start to finish in a day. It's really amazing how much better this game is in every regard over it's predecessor and not just in the ways you would expect, of course it looks better but it also plays much better with very little whack a mole type cover shooting and much more varied combat scenarios. The owl is a great tool that makes this game much more interesting to play. Once again great weapon variety. The story is better than 3, ...

Terrible characters ruin this mediocre game 0
I started playing this game 4 years ago, I bought and played it specifically to experience a 3D game, I also bought the PS move setup and the sharpshooter controller to have a completely unique experience.I played for about 2 hours and was really enjoying the spectacle of it all but I had to stop because the weight of the gun was really starting to bother me.Flash forward to today and I'm eager to get some Killzone under my belt so I can get ready for Horizon.Maybe I made a mistake because this ...

Good early hooks turn to frustration 0
I played most of this game 5 years ago when it came out, I got stuck towards the end of the game and wasn't enjoying it very much so I just walked away from it.After finishing Inside and not finding it difficult at all I decided to go back to this and give it another shot.Limbo is a lot harder than Inside and at many points it really felt unfair. This game was thankfully short.Visually striking, really the reason to play this game, just an amazing atmosphere.Controls well.I found the implied stor...

Maybe skip the multiplayer 0
I've never been one for shooters and Doom has always come across as the epitome of the exact opposite of what I like in a game, mindless shooting. But with the mass gushing about this game and a very tempting Steam sale, I decided that I must know. This game is intense, I felt like if I played for more than an hour my head may explode, in a good kind of way this game made me into a fearless demon killing machine.Everything about the shooting, movement level and enemy design was spot on, everything...

Overwatch is a fun shooter that everyone can enjoy. When I first started playing this game in beta I very quickly wrote it off as a Team Fortress clone and just stopped playing it.With all the hoopla around the launch I decided to give it another shot and I'm so glad I did. There is a lot of depth in this game and it is incredibly balanced which has lead to some of my best moments in gaming this year which I never would have guessed would come from a multiplayer game ever. The game controls great e...
